folder symbol and a "+" then you can click on the "+" to display the sub-categories. The main window displays the
search fields available, tailored to that category. A list of all the sites that can be searched in that category is displayed below the
search fields.
Fill in the relevant fields you want to search.
Choose either a single window or multiple windows to display the results in.
Press the "Search" button to display the results of the search.
You can tick or untick sites to include or exclude them from the search, before pressing the "Search" button.
You can also search individual sites just by clicking on the site name.

A Search does not open any sites
If the tree of categories does not appear on the left of the browser, or you try a search and no sites open then it is likely that your
web browser is set to not allow javascript to work. Our site is dependent on javascript being enabled in your browser.
View the Browser Configuration page for information on configuring popular web browsers.
Search Results
-
How are the results displayed?
Single Window - A new window appears with the list of sites down the left hand side and the first site's search results on the right hand side.
Just click on each site logo to carry out the search on that specific site.
Multiple Windows - Each site that is searched will open in a new browser window. You can then interact directly with that site as if you had gone to that
site and had manually carried out the search. Once the site's window has opened, there is no more interaction between Go Get Me A ...
and the site.
-
How do I repeat a search?
Single Window - Just enter your new search criteria on the left hand side and press the "New Search" button.
The last site searched will be searched again with the new search criteria.
Multiple Windows - When you carry out a search our site remains in the original browser window. You can simply change the text of your search and search
again. This will refresh any browser windows that are left open with the new search request. If you had closed a site's browser then
it will re-open again. If you want to search a different category then simply select it and start a new search.

Download Context Menu Item
-
What is the download?
The download provides an easier way of carrying out a Go Get Me A ... search. It is a very small file which, when run, adds a new entry to the context menu of the browser. When you are visiting any website you can highlight a piece of text and then carry out a Go Get Me A ... search on that text. The context menu appears when you right click the mouse. A new menu item will appear in the context menu if you right click over a piece of highlighted text. To highlight some text just hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse over the text you are interested in. Then a new browser window is opened with the Go Get Me A ... category tree displayed. Select the field name in the category you want to search to display that category's search page. You can also directly search an individual site by selecting the field name within any of the sites within a category.
-
Why use it?
Using the context menu from any website makes it much easier to get information from other sites. Here are some examples:
a) You have seen a digital camera review on a website and although the review gives the retail price you want to find out the typical online price. Just highlight the camera name, right click over the highlight and choose the Go Get Me A menu item. In the new browser window select Shopping - Electronics - Search and the relevant search page of Go Get Me A ... is displayed with the camera name already filled in. Just hit the Search button to carry out the shopping searches.
b) You sell things on eBay and have seen an item at a website that you think is particulary cheap. You wonder how much it has recently been selling for on eBay to see if there is any profit to be had. Highlight the item name, right click over the highlight and choose the Go Get Me A menu item. In the new browser window select Ebay Wizard - Ebay Completed - Search and the relevant search will be carried out on eBay with the results displayed in the new window.
Which browsers can use it?
The context menu item works for both Internet Explorer on Microsoft Windows and Firefox on any platform.
